DISH Network Remote Control Set-Up
The DISH Network setup process includes setting up your DISH Network remote control. It’s easier than you think, and if you ever have any problems DISH customer service representatives are available to assist you. By following these steps, you can complete your DISH Network remote control setup in no time at all:
- Turn the TV power on. There are four translucent function buttons at the top of the remote that light up red to indicate which of the four modes is being utilized. These four lighted functions are “SAT,” “TV,” “VCR,” and “AUX.”
- Press and hold the “TV” function button at the top middle-left hand side of the remote until all four function buttons light up.
- Release the TV function button.
- Quickly press and release either the smaller red TV power button or the singular red power button depending on the remote model. The TV function button will blink and then go to a steady light.
- Now you will use the up/down navigation arrows to find the code for your TV. To do this, you will start by repeatedly pressing then releasing the up arrow until your TV powers off. Each time you press the button, the TV function button will blink. Between each press of the button, please allow your TV to respond by powering off.
- Once your TV is off, lock in the code by pressing and releasing the pound key (#) at the bottom right hand side of the remote and you’re done. You want to set the remote back to “SAT” mode by pressing and releasing the “SAT” function key at the very top left of the remote.
Some Additional DISH Network Remote Control Setup & Programming Tips
Keep these tips in mind as you program your system:
- Be sure you are pointing the remote at the TV’s IR receiver while you are programming the remote. If you point it at the TV, the receiver cannot read what you’re pressing.
- There can be no obstructions between the remote and the TV.
- If too much time elapses between steps, the remote will exit the programming function, and you will have to start all over again.
- If you have questions about programming your remote, please contact DISH tech support for assistance.
