1080p is simply the “short-hand identification for a set of high-def TV video modes characterized by 1080 horizontal lines of vertical resolution and progressive scan.” What this means is that you get a superior quality picture with amazing detail and clarity, enhancing your DISH Network movies on demand experience. Of course, DISH Network is the first satellite TV provider to offer this amazing feature.
To use the VOD feature for DISH Network movies on demand, simply connect your receiver to your phone line or home broadband, and once you’re connected, go to channel 1 or 501 and select the movie of your choice. Then, just follow the on-screen instructions, and you’ll be watching your selection in no time at all.
Another way to watch a movie using Video on Demand is to press the DVR button on your remote and select DISH Cinema—option 2. Then select a movie from new releases or use the Explore and Search options to make a selection. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to watch your movie.
If your TV is able to support 3D, you can order certain Video on Demand movies in 3D (this will require a DVR receiver with 3D signal capabilities). When you order a 3D movie, the receiver will perform a quick test to make sure your TV is compatible. If your TV is unable to display the 3D movie correctly, your selection will be offered in normal high-definition resolution.
